These leaded medicine cabinet doors are a collaborative effort between myself and the client. It was important to compliment an adjacent leaded window in the bathroom as well as a massive set of historic windows viewed walking up the stairs (pictured below – note: I did not make these). We used milky white glass for the center diamonds and two types of antique glass for the outer diamonds and top/bottom borders. The watery ripple was salvaged from an old panel […]
For this bedroom door, I used salvaged and cut glass from an antique window (last pic in the gallery) for the clear top/bottom pieces and milky yellow, green and red for the rest. The design was completely freestyle – no cartoon or pre made pattern.Certainly not the most orthodox of methods, but sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow. The green lamp is 8″ x 4″ and powered by two AA batteries which makes it easy to put on a shelf or anywhere electricity is not an option. So far i’ve gotten about 30 hours of use from one set of batteries. The pink-purple-ish night light is 9″x5″ and powered by a small solar charged LED unit. The panel is hidden in a false bottom created with thin strips of black glass. The unit is removable and can easily be recharged. Different colors and […]
