It’s inevitable. After 80-100 years of life, leaded windows begin to give way to mother nature. Becoming brittle, collapsing and of lack of weather proofing are 3 good reasons to have your windows redone. Properly insulated leaded windows will get rid of cold drafts and save you money. The frames around these still need repainted, but the new leaded glass is ready for winter.
Restoring this window was a new challenge. In addition to the cracked pieces and collapsing lead, the image in the center was something I had not run into before.
