This is the start of restoring our front door. I’ve sanded off at least 5 layers of paint, probably dating back to the 20’s, knocked out the lower panels and windows on top. The overall design is meant to compliment the leaded window I recently mounted on the front of our house which is just to the right.
I’ve used the foil method for the top panel with three types of glass and will use long lead came lines for the lower panels (design still in progress). The wood will be stained red mahogany. I’ll probably add a splash of colored glass to the bottom panels. The door gets great southeast light in morning to late afternoon. Working hard to get it done before the real cold arrives!
